About Me
My name is Steve Andrews and I have been shooting firearms for over 50 years. I am a lifetime NRA member, as well as an NRA Certified Instructor with certifications in several firearm disciplines. I also hold a rating as an NRA Range Safety Officer. While constantly working on my own improvement in firearm practices and accuracy, I equally enjoy passing the knowledge, skill and satisfaction that comes from firearm handling on to others, especially newcomers to the sport.
Whether you have never fired a gun in your life, have some experience and seek to improve, are familiar with guns and got a little rusty or maybe you would like to try different firearms or cartridges you are interested in, I am at your service. For those that are completely new to firearms, I like to clarify some of the mystery of guns, and help to dispel some of the misinformation that abounds around them, in my teaching. Modern ranges and modern safety practices make shooting one of the safest sports around. With this as a basis for my teaching, I always start new students off with safety training exercises using mock guns. Only when I know they have a complete understanding of safe gun handling do we go to the range, where we start with the .22 LR, one of the lightest of rounds, and advance to larger calibers only when comfortable to do so.
